Beyond its ancestral heritage, Navarino Island and the Beagle Channel are home to an inexhaustible source of history—including the late‑20th‑century conflict with Argentina over the Beagle Channel and southern waters. You’ll visit the Róbalo Battery Site Museum, a testament to those years, when a battle between neighboring countries nearly took place.

Then you’ll connect with nature and witness one of the singular features of the Cape Horn Biosphere Reserve: the miniature forests. We invite you to slow down and engage with this space, where a continuous 25‑year bird monitoring program is underway. A bird specialist and leader of this monitoring in the Reserve will guide a scientific birdwatching experience, helping you identify different species in the island’s surroundings.
